How your morning coffee gets here

Four steps, about nine months and a lot of care between a farm in Huila and the bag on your kitchen shelf.

Step 1, March

It starts as a green cherry

Coffee grows as small fruit on shrubs high in the Andes. Our partner farm is at 1,800 meters, where cool nights slow the fruit down and build flavor.

Step 2, October

Picked by hand when red

Only the ripe cherries are picked, one by one. The farm pays pickers by weight and pays a bonus for fully ripe fruit.

Step 3, January

Roasted in small batches

The seeds are dried, shipped to us and roasted 12 kilos at a time in Leeds. A light roast keeps the notes of plum and brown sugar.

Step 4, this morning

Brewed in your kitchen

We post within two days of roasting, so it arrives at its best. Grind right before you brew and it tastes like the farm intended.
